Kristin Taylor Head of Scholastic Journalism
  • The Archer School for Girls

Kristin Taylor, MJE, teaches scholastic journalism at the Archer School for Girls in Los Angeles, where she advises the award-winning online newspaper, The Oracle, and the yearbook, Hestia's Flame. Archer is one of only three private schools to ever be awarded the First Amendment Press Freedom Award for their completely student-run media program; they have won this award the past eight years. Taylor holds a Master’s degree in secondary education and earned a second Master’s in journalism through Kent State University in 2018. She began her elected term on JEA's Board of Directors as the director of the Scholastic Press Rights Committee spring 2020. That same year, Taylor was one of four advisers nationally to be named a Distinguished Adviser by the Columbia Scholastic Press Association. She can often be found standing on a soapbox, shouting enthusiastically about the importance of student press freedom.
